IGCSE HUMANITIES

At Nexus Educate, we bring liberal arts education to life through humanities courses that inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of the world. We equip students with the analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills essential for navigating an ever-changing world.

At a time when our planet faces enormous challenges, the ability to question assumptions, analyse data, evaluate sources, and interpret meaning has never been more important. On our humanities courses, students don’t just gain knowledge—they explore the complexities of our collective heritage and develop a vital understanding of issues that impact our lives on a daily basis. The range of skills acquired while studying a humanities subject is a valuable cultural competency and a strong foundation for academic and professional success. No prior study is necessary; however, a genuine interest in the subjects is essential.

HUMANITIES A LEVEL

'The humanities and social sciences are not simply the icing on the academic cake, but essential to the intellectual, cultural and political health of the country.' Mary Beard.

Our A Level Humanities curriculum provides students with an engaging framework to explore the relationships between individuals, societies, and governance. These courses encourage critical thinking and analytical skills as students dive into topics such as social inequality, globalisation and political ideology. By examining real-world case studies and applying theoretical perspectives, students are introduced to the complexities surrounding power structures, as well as personal, social and national identity formation in contemporary society.

The skills developed through A Level Humanities are invaluable both academically and professionally. Students enhance their abilities in research, synthesis of ideas, source evaluation and discursive writing, all of which are essential for success in higher education as well as many career paths.

Whether students aspire to work in law, social research, journalism or public policy, the insights gained from our A Level Sociology and Politics courses will enable them to contribute meaningfully to social and political debate and provide vital context for understanding the complicated issues surrounding international relations and current affairs.

'Well, it’s been an absolute godsend having you teach them. They have loved having you as their teacher and mentor and from my perspective, you have kept us afloat. So, thank you very much for all your support…'

I want to personally thank you for all your hard work, your dedication ... and your support to both him and me and my endless questions! It has been a pleasure and I will be forever grateful that [he] joined your class.

KL, Parent

'...helped me hugely throughout my education, guiding me from GCSE through to A level with crucial exam practice and technique... Without her help, I would not have achieved my A grades. Laura's guidance and advice helped me to land a place at Edinburgh University, where I am now studying Ancient History.
